2021 Queensland: Copperfield & Cobbold Gorges
Two gorges of the Gulf Savannah region of Far North Queensland, Copperfield Gorge and Cobbold Gorge. Copperfield Gorge is at the small town of Einsaleigh where the Copperfield River has cut through several lava flows. Cobbold Gorge was discovered in 1992, it is around 90 kms south of Georgetown, accessed via the small town of Forsayth. It is a spectacular, narrow, spring fed gorge, hidden within rugged sandstone formations occupying an area of about 80 square kilometres. Its waters flow to the Robertson River.
