Franklin House. The National Trust of Tasmania was founded in 1960 for the specific purpose of saving this house from demolition, to purchase it and to undetake its restoration and furnishing. The house was built in 1838 by Mr Britton Jones, who arrived in Hobart Town in 1820 as a convict from England.
